Quiet. Very quiet. Try boosting the volume and frequency and add a multi-band compressor. Also, the kick drum is just.... Well it doesn't sound like one. Haha so I am not sure what you can do about that.
That aside, great song. I'm not a big fan of dethklok. I hate the vocolist. But the riffs are pretty slick. Nice work!

Glutch responds:

Yes, I know, about the volume, I made a huge mistake recording, and really didnt feel like re-recording every track. And with the drums, I have to use Midi drums at the moment, as I have no drum mics. Thank you for the input though. Oh, and of course the vocalist sounds a bit overdone, the band is a parody.

Dude! What the hell!? Your score is freakin' low. It shouldn't be! This is solid shit. That lead is awesome. It reminds a bit of unearth or parkway drive. This is sick dude... The drums are awesome, guitar is heavy, the lead is crisp. I don't see anything wrong with this. Great great work. Keep it up.

Hell yes, bro. This is awesome. The problem I had listening to this track is the overall sound. The guitar riffs are amazing... But the sound is way to thin. It sounds like a track recorded way back in the 80's like Pantera. Everything is just so thin and is really quiet and doesn't have that "punch" that most tracks have now days. I don't care much for the sound, it's all about the riffs. But unfortunately, you won't get very far with a thin sound. Did you use a bass? Something is just missing... I am going to give you a 4/5 because of the sound. But dude... This track is amazing. Keep it up. This is only my opinion, don't hate!

Thank you! Yes the sound is a bit hollow. Bass is missing, and the drums were run through a transient shaper, and it was a bit too harsh. Additionally, I noticed a huge decrease in tone when down-converting to MP3. This particular track should be at 320, but the WAV file was a little bit fuller. Overall, I'm just trying to get better at mixing. The drums are my biggest challenge, but guitar is up there too.

Thanks for the input, we are most certainly on the same page. The punch is there though. A little too much though. The transients are really shaped to kick the speaker's ass. At least it sounds like such on my monitors and the speakers in my car and headphones. The MP3 file may have killed it :/

So this is actually a pretty sweet song. One problem... The mixing. The mixing, is quite honestly, pretty bad. It's a shame. You have way to much center noise, high end frequency, and mid range. I don't know if it's the VST's you're are using or what. But this sounds super bled out. I'm assuming you used soundgoodizer? Or tried doing something with your EQ... Remix this man, it's a shame to have such nice guitar and orchestra but a bad sound.

Just my opinion. Keep it up!

Lich responds:

Thanks for the review.

In the revised version I am currently revisiting I have sorted out the EQ'ing for the whole track. It was more to do with some errors when I was trying to reference the sound of the track over several speaker systems, the Hats/Cymbals being the most evident thing to correct and the lack of bass. When I release it it will sound alot cleaner, the EWQL Choir which signs out the words being clearer to hear and with my own vocal work added :)

I am surprised at the low score on this track... It should be in the 4s! The one suggestion is to take that "Drops over bitches" part. I love that line but it sort of ruined the drop. I would incorporate that saying somewhere else in the track.
Great work!

AxTekk responds:

Thanks! I think just the act of putting "SJD" on any song gets you zero bombed though lol.

Special thanks for the creative crit, if you ever want any back, want to collab or just shoot the shit feel free to hit me up breh

I really like the melody of this song. But the break=-in at 1:12 was just a little weak... It seemed like maybe it got compressed a little to much and took a lot of volume away. And I think you'd have more of an energized break-in if you had a snare in there at the beginning. I'm loving those base drops... And the pads! What are you using for the bass drops? I'd love to incorporate that sound into my heavy metal drops.

This was a pleasure to listen to... Great job and keep it up!

I agree with the guy below. This shouldn't be listed under Heavy Metal. But that aside, it was a nice listen. I loved the percussion.

Excellent! I must say, he pluck you used it absolutely amazing. It was really sharp but also had muffled sound to it (filtered?). Great work. I like the break-in at around 3:00. That was awesome! Good job, keep up the good work.

D-J-A responds:

Yep the pluck is filtered-and I opened the filter at the break :).

Thanks a lot for the review!

So this is overall a pretty cool idea. I thought it was great. But... You either compressed this track a little to much or have to much base. My Studio Monitors and my DJ Headphones both crack and the bass sucks out the melody of the song. Other than that, it was pretty great.

MCDefective responds:

Yeah I bass boosted it and compressed it pretty hard.

Great track. I love the melody. I also love what you did with the hi-hats at the beginning of the song and throughout the beat. The thing that really felt missing in this track was a proper break-in. Trance usually has a "rise", and then a "breakdown" and then another "rise" and onto the main chorus. Where the beat is fast and uplifting. But I totally understand what you're doing here. It's a little short, but it was great. Keep it up!

This is my main account for tracks that have been completely finished. My other accounts: J-N-R, Jnr1114
